Memorable Manitobans: Roland Coristine (1865-?)Farmer. Born in Lampton County, Ontario on 29 August 1865, son of John Coristine, he quit school at the age of 17 to managed the family farm while his father worked another farm in Manitoba. In 1886, when his father retired back to the Ontario farm, he took up the 480-acre Manitoba farm situated on Section 17, Township 11, Range 19 near Brandon. On 13 December 1895, he married Sarah Cumming at Brandon. They had six children: Hazel Coristine, Wilfred Coristine, Rita Coristine, Murray Coristine, Gladys Coristine, and Harry Coristine.
