Memorable Manitobans: F. Walter R. Colcleugh (?-1907)Indian agent. Born in Ontario, son of Frederick William Colcleugh and Isabella Nichol, he came to Manitoba in 1877, settling at Selkirk. He became connected with the Selkirk Fish Company and the Northern Fish Company, where he worked as an accountant for fifteen years. He was appointed Indian agent, was a member of the Canadian Order of Foresters, and served as Chief of the fire brigade of Selkirk. He died in Selkirk and is buried in Mapleton Cemetery.
