Ornithologist.
Born on 15 April 1923, he graduated from Gordon Bell High School in 1942 and enlisted in the Navy during the Second World War. He later sailed the Pacific Coast line with his uncle and completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Manitoba in 1952. He was the editor of Investors Syndicate’s publication The Investor. A keen birdwatcher, he co-authored the book Birder’s Guide to Southeastern Manitoba. He enjoyed annual trips to Central and South America for birdwatching and touring ancient ruins. He was a member of a number of organizations including the Manitoba Historical Society, Grain Exchange Curling Club, Niakwa Golf and Country Club, Manitoba Naturalist’s Society, and Rare Bird Alert. He died at Winnipeg on 11 November 2006.
