Educator.
Born at Stonewall on 24 February 1897, daughter of David Henry Thomas (1853-1917) and Ann Sarah Watts (1866-1950), she grew up locally and attended teacher training. She taught at Ferndale School (?-?), Deseronto School (1918) and was Principal of Angus School (1919-1920).
Around 1925, she married grain buyer John Albert “Jack” Chittick (1889-1973) and they had two children: Wallace Albert Chittick (1925-2015) and Joyce Chittick (c1928-2011, wife of Stirling Campbell). They moved around while Jack worked at the Birtle Pool Grain Elevator (1927-1931), Gladstone Pool Grain Elevator (1931-1932), Gladstone United Grain Growers Grain Elevator (1932-1940), and Bowsman United Grain Growers Grain Elevator (1950-1951). After raising their family, she returned to the classroom before retiring in 1956. They moved to Fort Garry and she later resided at 970 Point Road. She was a 25-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She died at Winnipeg on 4 November 1989 and was buried in the Stonewall Cemetery.
