Educator.
Born in St. Boniface in 1939, son of Georges Chaput (1908-2002) and Amélie Marie Boux (1913-1998), he played hockey and studied at Bemidji State College, receiving a BA degree there, and later received a BEd degree (1968) from the University of Manitoba. He taught at Beliveau Junior High School and Windsor Park Collegiate, and was a Principal at Pierre Radisson Collegiate (?-1974), Tuxedo Park School (1974-1976), Laidlaw School (1976-1980), and Royal School (1980-1988). He completed his career as Director of French immersion programming in the Assiniboine South School Division. In retirement, he served as a practicum advisor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Manitoba.
On 29 August 1964, he married Helen Phyllis Moskalyk at St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church and they had three sons. He died at Winnipeg on 23 June 2024.
