Educator, lawyer.
Born at Hamiota on 19 April 1883, son of Reverend John Hugh Cameron and Charlotte Geddie Cameron, he was educated at Russell School and the University of Manitoba. He worked as a teacher at Plumas School (1904) and Arden School (1905-1906). Called to Manitoba Bar in 1909, he moved to Gladstone where he established a law practise. He was a member of the IOOF (Secretary, Gladstone Lodge No. 5), IOGT, Liberal party, and Presbyterian church. His recreations were hockey, hunting, canoeing, swimming, football, baseball, tennis, and shooting.
In November 1915, he enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force and went overseas as a member of the 106th Regiment, Winnipeg Light Infantry. He later transferred to the 27th City of Winnipeg Battalion. He was wounded in September 1916 and July 1917 but contracted pneumonia while convalescing. He died in England on 8 November 1918 and is commemorated by war memorials at Gladstone, Law Society of Manitoba, and Manitoba College.
