Born in Russia on 15 December 1872, son of Johan Georg (Frederich) Borger and Elizabeth Borger, he and his family moved to Canada in 1902 and he founded the construction firm of Henry Borger and Sons in 1919. He and wife Katherine Sophia Bernhardt (1878-1944) had seven children: John Henry Borger, Amalie “Molly” Borger (1904-1999, wife of Ernest Brady), Friedrich “Fred” Borger (1906-1989), David Borger (1910-1969), Andreas “Andrew” Borger (1913-?), Maria “Mary” Borger (1919-2013, wife of Ed Deibert), and William Borger (1921-?). He died at his Winnipeg home, 480 Anderson Avenue, on 31 July 1946 and was buried in the Elmwood Cemetery.
