Memorable Manitobans: Henry Edwards Bewell (1877-1945)Dentist. Born at Scarborough Junction, Ontario on 9 August 1877, son of William Horne Bewell and Emma Edwards (1852-?), he was educated at Whitby, Ontario, graduating from the Whitby Collegiate Institute in 1895. For the next few years, he worked on the family farm then taught school at various places in Manitoba until 1902 when he began training as a dentist. The four-year course was concluded at the Royal College of Dental Surgeons, in Toronto, in 1906. He established a dental practice at Dauphin. In November 1907, he married Pearl Lush at Huntsville, Ontario. He was a member of the IOOF and the Dauphin Methodist Church. He died at Dauphin on 30 May 1945 and was buried in the Dauphin Cemetery.
