Memorable Manitobans: Thomas Woodcock (1874-?)Farmer. Born near Salisbury, England on 14 October 1874, son of John Woodcock and Katherine I. Todd, the family emigrated to Canada in 1891 but the father died soon after arrival. The widow bought 160 acres of land near Minnedosa and farmed it with the aid of her sons. They prospered to the extent that the farm grew to comprise some 2,400 acres. When her estate was divided, Thomas Woodcock received 480 acres on Sections 30 and 31, Township 15, Range 17. He grew grain and livestock. On 3 January 1912, he married Grace Corbett at Bethany, Manitoba. He was a member of the Canadian Order of Foresters and the Anglican Church.
