Born at Winnipeg on 11 November 1947, one of three sons of Edward Joseph Weselake (?-1986) and Mary Christina Weselake (?-1998), he attended St. Paul's High School then studied Fine Arts and Architecture at the University of Manitoba. After working at Smith Carter Partners, he founded his own practice and provided architectural services to the Northern Flood Capital Reconstruction Authority, designing schools at York Factory and Fort Alexander. After working on projects in Washington state as of 1998, he returned to Manitoba and joined the Public Schools Finance Board, retiring shortly before his death as Acting Executive Director. He married Diane Minaker and they had a son and a daughter. In the 1990s, he served on the board of St. John's-Ravenscourt School. He died at his Winnipeg home on 29 July 2016.
