Nurse.
Born at Marchand on 15 August 1919, daughter of and Grace Silda Whyte (1882-1977) and James Isaac Bloomer (1881-1960), she graduated from the Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing and began her career as a neurology scrub nurse in Montreal, Quebec. Following her return home to Winnipeg, she became the city’s first public health nurse and played a role in the formation of the nurse’s union. She retired in 1975. She was married twice, first on 21 July 1945 to Leslie Geddes of St. Lambert, Quebec and they had a son. Around 1969, she married Francis “Frank” Weisensel (1921-2006). She died at Winnipeg on 24 January 2007 and was buried in the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
