Athlete, police officer.
Born at Winnipeg on 29 March 1927, son of William Warwick and Marjorie Carter, he was raised in St. Vital and Norwood. He attended Tache School, Norwood Collegiate, and St. Paul's College. He played hockey in England with the Nottingham Panthers and, after returning home in 1949, baseball in Kentucky and Florida with the Washington Senators farm teams. He then played baseball for the Elmwood Giants in the Mandak League (1950) and football with the Norwood Legionaires (1952). In recognition of his athletic prowess, he was inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame (1999) and the Manitoba Football Hall of Fame (2006). He was also an avid curler and golfer.
In 1954, he joined the Winnipeg Police Department and retired after 30 years with the rank of Sergeant. In 1953, he married Louise Marie Kennedy (1931-2016) and they had a son and two daughters. He died at the St. Boniface Hospital on 11 July 2011.
