Liberal leader, sportswoman.
Born Marguerite McIntyre at Arnprior, Ontario in 1888, she married watchmaker Harry Walsh (1879-1947) and they had son William James Walsh. The family moved to Winnipeg in 1917. She was prominent in Liberal circles in Manitoba, serving as President of the Liberal Women’s Association of Greater Winnipeg (1937) and South Winnipeg Women’s Liberal Club (1946). She was a Coalition Liberal candidate in the 1945 provincial general election. She also served as President of the Manitoba Ladies’ Curlers Association (1929-1930) and was named an Honourary Life Member (1943), and President of the Riverview Ladies’ Lawn Bowling Association and Fort Rouge Curling Club. She organized the Catholic Women’s League in Manitoba for many years and was its President (1933). She died at the Misericordia Hospital on 17 May 1954 and was buried in the Garden of Gethsemane section of the Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery.
