Born at Leamington, Weste Sussex, England on 8 August 1920, he came to Canada and attended the University of Manitoba, graduating with a degree in Architecture and a gold medal. He worked at the architectural firm of Green Blankstein and Russell and was involved in such major projects as the Winnipeg International Airport, Polo Park Shopping Centre, St. Boniface Hospital, Grace General Hospital, Health Sciences Centre, buildings at Brandon University, University of Winnipeg and the Science, Math and UMSU buildings at the University of Manitoba. In 1990, he was made a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. In 1948, he married Joyce McCullough (1928-2009) and they had a daughter and a son. He died at Winnipeg on 11 March 2011 and was buried in the Thomson In The Park Cemetery.
