Memorable Manitobans: Robert Warren “Uncle Bob” Swarts (1934-1989)

Entertainer, ventriloquist.

Born at Winnipeg on 30 June 1934, son of Robert Warren Swarts (c1902-1971) and Myrtle May Croft (1914-2009), he attended Lord Roberts School and Tec Voc. For over 20 years, he was “Uncle Bob” on the popular childrens’ television program “Archie and His Friends.” He died at Gimli on 9 June 1989.
