Gun maker.
Born at Edinburgh, Scotland on 11 November 1884, son of Oliver and Agnes Stark, he left school at the age of 16 to learn the gun making trade. After serving his apprenticeship, he came with his parents to Manitoba in 1903, settling at Rapid City where he farmed for a year before moving to Brandon. He partnered with his father in the gun making firm of Oliver Stark & Son. He was a member of the Brandon District Football League, the Western Interprovincial Rifle League, and the Brandon Rifle League.
