On 21 June 1912, he married Ethel Alice Adams (1881-1962) at South Stormont, Ontario and they had two children: Robert Adams Snyder (1914-1914) and Alice Thelma Snyder (1916-2005, wife of B. W. Solomon). He was a member of the Odd Fellows (Portage Lodge No. 3), Ruth Rebekah Lodge No. 3, Orange Lodge, Knights of Pythias, Delta Beach Association, and St. Mary's Anglican Church.
