Memorable Manitobans: Ruth Waterman Rubinstein (1936-2014)

Born at Winnipeg on 7 July 1936, daughter of Sheila and Louis Waterman, she was a piano teacher and performer before her marriage to Charles Rubinstein. She later worked as a technician in the family pharmacy and was a freelance writer for the Winnipeg Tribune and Jewish Post, and also edited books. After obtaining a BSc degree in nutritional biochemistry, she wrote articles on nutrition for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Manitoba. She died at Winnipeg on 5 August 2014.
