Memorable Manitobans: Walter Ross (1886-?)Physician. Born at Holland, Manitoba on 7 July 1886, son of W. R. Ross and Margaret McCammon, he was educated in Holland public schools then graduated from Manitoba College in 1904. He attended the Manitoba Medical College and received an MD degree in 1909, receiving the O’Donald gold medal. He worked as a hospital intern for six months then established a medical practice at Dauphin, Manitoba. On 16 February 1908, he married Barbara B. Smith of Ottawa, Ontario.
