Actor, director, producer, writer, artist.
Born in Wales in 1893, she became connected with the Abby Theatre in Dublin, Ireland. After her marriage to Irish journalist and author Charles B. Pyper (1885-1975), she came to Winnipeg where she achieved prominence through the 1920s as an actor, director, and producer with a number of dramatic groups in the city, including at the University of Manitoba and The Little Theatre. She was widely known as a speaker and writer. She moved to Toronto, Ontario in 1933 where her husband was an editorial writer for the Toronto Telegram and she became the first female director at the Hart House Theatre. She died at Toronto in 1985. Her papers from 1924 to 1971 are in the University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections.
