Farmer.
Born at Lanark, Ontario on 6 October 1848, he moved to British Columbia in 1875 and, three years later, settled in Manitoba. He homesteaded the north half of 19-4-9W near Somerset and added to his holdings until he farmed 660 acres. In June 1882, he married Martha Matilda Lochead (1852-1913) and they had three sons and five daughters. One son was killed in the First World War. He was a member of the Presbyterian church. He died on 25 November 1927 and was buried in the Kingsley Cemetery.
