Businessman, community activist.
Born at Rama, Saskatchewan on 5 September 1935, he graduated from Yorkton Collegiate and soon became the manager of a scrap iron dealership at Yorkton. Upon retirement, he managed Fred's Newsstand.
Proud of his Ukrainian heritage, he was a member for 46 years of the Ukrainian National Home Association (UNHA) and President for his last 28 years; associated with The Centre for Ukrainian Canadian Studies of St. Andrew’s College; served as President and board member of Trident Press; was director of Osvita Foundation; and served as a member of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew and the Ukrainian Professional Business Men's Association. He loved Ukrainian music and was pleased when the Hoosli Ukrainian Men’s Chorus made its home with the UNHA.
With his wife Helen he had two children. He enjoyed golfing, curling, bowling, fishing, and playing cribbage.
He died at Winnipeg on 20 December 2010 and was buried in the Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
