St. Andrew’s College was incorporated in September 1946 in the former St. John’s College Annex in north Winnipeg. Initially, it offered a degree program in Theology to train priests for the Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church of Canada, as well as a regular high school program (ended in the 1952-1953 academic year), and summer courses in Ukrainian culture (ended in the 1980s).

On 14 June 1962, the College became associated with the University of Manitoba and construction of a new building at the Fort Garry campus began in December 1962. It was completed in early 1964 and an opening ceremony occurred on 4 July 1964.

In 1981, the College established the Centre for Ukrainian Canadian Studies.
