Memorable Manitobans: John Harvey Miller (1851-1922)

Implement agent, municipal official.

Born at Norval, Ontario on 23 September 1851, son of James Miller and Harriet McNab, he came to Manitoba in 1895 and settled at Elkhorn where he sold agricultural implements. He served as a councillor for the Rural Municipality of Wallace. In this capacity he attended the 1905 founding meeting in Brandon of the Union of Manitoba Municipalities. He was also Mayor of Elkhorn (1913). He died unmarried at Elkhorn on 5 March 1922.
