Memorable Manitobans: Rudolf Ewald “Rudy” Mehmel (1918-2013)

Educator.

Born at Winnipeg on 15 April 1918, he received BEd and BSc degrees and taught school for much of his adult life. He taught at Kissman School (1945-1946) and was the Principal of Franklin School (1950-1952), Starbuck School (1952-1953), Viscount Alexander High School (1953-1956), Oak Point School (1959-1961), Beulah School (1961-1962), Ashern School (1962-1964), and Amaranth School (1964-1965). He died at Winnipeg on 14 December 2013.
