Memorable Manitobans: John Dale McKelvie (1876-1959)Businessman. He came to Winnipeg in 1903 and worked until retirement in 1957 as a manufacturers’ agent. He was a member and Sunday School Superintendent of Chalmers United Church for more than 20 years, President of the Scottish Amateur Athletic Association, and President of the Winnipeg St. Andrew’s Society (1944-1946). He had three children, including son Charles McKelvie. He died at Winnipeg on 20 November 1959 and was buried in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Sources:“John D.
