Musician, composer.
Born at Calgary, Alberta on 4 March 1937, she received a degree from the Royal Conservatory of Music (1957) and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Manitoba (1972). She later taught Continuing Education classes in music appreciation and was the university’s Composer-In-Residence. She performed throughout Canada and the USA, as well as the United Kingdom and Europe. Described by the Canadian Encyclopedia as “a champion of 20th-century Canadian music”, in 1977 she co-founded with Ann Southam the contemporary music series Music Inter Alia. In 1957, she married chartered accountant George McIntosh (?-2010). They had no children. She was an active member of the Christian Science faith. She died at Winnipeg on 22 December 2022.
