Farmer.
Born in Halton County, Ontario on 17 October 1852, he came to Manitoba in May 1878 and homesteaded on Section 2-24-9W near Manitou. On 20 January 1886, he married Catherine Fargey (1849-1938) in the RM of Louise and they had two sons and a daughter. He was a school trustee for many years and an elder in the Presbyterian Church. He died on his farm on 7 April 1930 and was buried in the Manitou Community Cemetery.
