Memorable Manitobans: William G. McBain (1866-1899)
Rancher.
Born in Quebec in 1866, son of David Graham McBain and Hannah Ross, he arrived at Kildonan with his family in 1878. He worked in his father’s store for a time, later operating a store of his own and a ranch at Netley Lake. He married Elizabeth Kaufman and they had two children: Graham McBain and Anna McBain. He died on 8 March 1899.
