Memorable Manitobans: Frances “Nona” Matheson (1910-2003)Wood carver. She worked many years as a stenographer for various employers, including the Mayor and City Treasurer of St. James. She was an accomplished artist and wood carver, winning several ribbons and was the designer of the St. James city crest when St. James became a city in 1958.
