Journalist.
Born at Winnipeg on 12 October 1913, son of ? Manning and Margaret Mona Thorarinson, he attended the University of Manitoba then, in the mid-1930s, he joined the sports department of the Winnipeg Tribune. He later became Sports Editor and wrote a daily column, “One Man's Opinion”. After the Second World War, he became City Editor and later News Editor. He left the newspaper in October 1950 to become an assistant editor at MacLean's magazine in Toronto. He was later Editor of Mayfair magazine, Assistant Managing Editor of the Toronto Star, and News Director of radio station CKGM at Montreal before moving to Vancouver, British Columbia to join the staff of the Vancouver Sun, writing editorials then a daily sports column. He died suddenly on 27 October 1962.
