Memorable Manitobans: Lillie Lyster (?-?)Municipal official. Born at Richmond, Quebec, daughter of Philip Lyster and Catherine Montgomery, she was educated at St. Francis College (Richmond) and the Montreal Normal School. She taught school in Quebec for some time and came to Manitoba in 1919 where she became clerk in the office of the Secretary-Treasurer, James Donnelly. She took over the job in 1924 on Donnelly’s death, one of only three women in Manitoba at the time to hold this position. Anglican. Address, Minto, Manitoba.
