Memorable Manitobans: Edwin James Lyon (1880-?)Physician. Born at Guelph, Ontario on 25 April 1880, son of James Walter and Lucy Lyon, he was educated at the Guelph College Institute and University of Toronto before completing three years of post-graduate work at a hospital in London, England and the General Hospital at Birmingham, England. He came to Winnipeg in 1910 and practiced medicine in the McArthur Building. He also served as a medical examiner for the Home Life Insurance Company, North American Life Insurance Company, and Western Life Insurance Company Club. He was a member of the Midland Medical Society (England) and Presbyterian church.
