Community activist.
Born at Winnipeg on 31 March 2020, son of John A. “Jack” Kolt and Pauline “Lee” Lasky (1915-1980), twin of Richard Kenneth Kolt, music was always part of his life. He learned to play accordion and other instruments. In partnership with his father and brother, they operated Kolt Music School and Sales in the city’s North End for 45 years. The Kolt Brothers band performed at weddings and special occasions for over 20 years, and recorded several albums.
On 13 June 1964, he married Judith Ann “Judy” Paiuk at St. John Cantius Church and they had two sons and a daughter.
He died at Winnipeg on 28 August 2016.
