Memorable Manitobans: Benjamin F. Klassen (1931-2003)

Building contractor.

Born on 4 January 1931, son of John U. Klassen (1906-1946) and Maria Friesen (1908-1989), he operated a construction company that was responsible for numerous buildings around Manitoba. He and wife Marie Olfert (1931-?) had five daughters and one son. He died at Winnipeg on 28 February 2003 and was buried in the Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. He is commemorated by the B. F. Klassen Foundation.
