Manager.
Born at Wiltshire, England in 1888, he came to Canada in 1911, settling at Calgary, Alberta. He joined the Northern Electric Company in 1913 and was transferred to its Winnipeg office in 1915. He was appointed Regina manager for the company in 1923 then was brought back to Winnipeg as district manager in 1933 where he remained until retirement in 1944.
A well-known authority on western Canadian history, he gave radio talks on the subject. He turned over a collection of historical documents to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police museum at Regina. A keen philatelist, his collection of British Empire stamps was considered among the best in western Canada. He also collected British war medals. Active in community affairs, he was Treasurer for the Manitoba Hospital Service Association and, during the years of the Great Depression, he worked on behalf of the Associated Fresh Air Camps. He was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church and he lived in the Wolseley Apartments.
He died in Florida in January 1952 and was buried in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery at Toronto, Ontario.
