Born in County Sligo, Ireland in 1878 and educated locally, he lived in England for some years. He came to Winnipeg in 1904 and was involved in business until becoming Editor of the North-West Review in 1919. He was a Progressive candidate in the 1922 provincial general election. He died in late 1959 and was buried in the Calvery Cemetery at Los Angeles, California.
