Memorable Manitobans: William George Heaman (1903-1989)Farmer, museum operator. Born at Virden on 24 December 1903, son of Thomas Heaman and Elizabeth Clarkson, cousin of Isaac Clarkson, he farmed in the Boyne district until retiring to spend his time renovating antique automobiles. From an initial purchase of a 1926 Ford Model T, his collection grew to include some 150 vehicles, including such rarities as a 1902 Orient Buckboard and a 1936 LaSalle. From 1966 to 1985, he operated Heaman’s Antique Autorama at Carman to display his collection. He died at Carman on 21 February 1989 and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery.
