Memorable Manitobans: John Wesley Harris (1866-?)Educator. Born in the USA in June 1866, he and his wife Sarah E. Harris (1867-?) immigrated to Canada in 1909 and applied for a homestead grant in Manitoba at SE36-37-26W, east of Bowsman. He taught at Bowsman Union School (1909-1911), Elm Creek School (1911-1912, Principal), and Rosewell School (1913). His later whereabouts are unknown. Sources:1911 Canada census, Automated Genealogy.
