Memorable Manitobans: Gordon Edward “Gord” Hannon (1961-2020)

Lawyer.

Born at Atikokan, Ontario around 1961, son of Marilyn and Wally Hannon, he moved to Winnipeg to attend the University of Manitoba. After completing a law degree, in 1984 he became a Crown Attorney for the Government of Manitoba. He was Secretary (five years) and President (ten years) for the Manitoba Association of Crown Attorneys. In recognition of his community service, with Opportunities for Independence, Career Trek, and others, he received the William Norrie Community Services Award from Volunteer Manitoba. He died at Winnipeg on 16 August 2020 and was buried in the Assumption Cemetery.
