Farmer, municipal official.
Born in Carlton Place, Ontario in 1856, he married Belinda Hamilton and brought her west in June 1877, where they settled in the Manitou district. They had three sons and six daughters. He took a deep interest in municipal affairs and was for a time a school trustee as well as councillor and Reeve of the Rural Municipality of Pembina (1904-1906). He was a Presbyterian. He died on 20 May 1922.
