Firefighter.
Born at Winnipeg on 1 December 1973 to Bob and Bettie Fraser, he graduated from John Taylor Collegiate, where he was a star player for the varsity Pipers basketball team and a member of the Lord Selkirk Boy Scout Pipe Band. After graduation, he worked at MacDon Industries for four years, while taking courses and building his work and volunteer experience in order to become a firefighter.
After completing his training at the Brandon Fire College in 1999, he became the first out-of-province firefighter to be hired by the City of Saskatoon Fire Department, where he served with distinction for two years. In 2001, he joined the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and served at No. 1, No. 12, and No. 10 fire stations. On 6 February 2002, he was awarded a medal of bravery for dashing into a burning three-storey building and rescuing a woman using a thermal imaging camera.
He stayed fit by boxing, weightlifting, and cycling, enjoyed camping with his family at Rushing River Provincial Park, and working on projects around his home with his father. He was proud of obtaining his Irish citizenship and his Irish passport from Dublin.
He died at Winnipeg on 28 March 2007.
