Memorable Manitobans: Jane Arthurs Frain (?-2016)

Community activist.

Born at Powasson, Ontario, on 23 June 1951 she married physician J. Bruce Frain and came with him to Winnipeg. She served as President of the Women’s Canadian Club of Winnipeg and was a member of the city’s Social Planning Council and Board of Revision. In recognition of her community service, she received the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Medal (1977). She died at Winnipeg on 23 February 2016.
