Educator.
Born in Russia on 19 September 1921, son of Gerhard Ewert and Maria Dick, the family emigrated to Mexico in 1924 and resettled in southern Manitoba two years later. He became a school teacher, serving for over 30 years including service as the Principal of Southwood School (1957-1967) and Steinbach Junior High School (1968-1972). He was an active member of the Steinbach Mennonite Brethren Church. He retired in 1978 and lived in Florida until returning to Manitoba in 1986. He died at Winnipeg on 30 November 2002 and was buried in the Glen Eden Memorial Garden.
