George Rae Davidson

Printer, municipal official.
Born at Aberdeen, Scotland on 15 October 1890, and a printer by trade, he settled in Winnipeg in 1913. He served in both World Wars with the Winnipeg Grenadiers. He was a founding member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Manitoba and a member of the Veterans Guard of Canada. Davidson became an alderman for the Rural Municipality of West Kildonan in 1922 and in 1925 served as Reeve. He retired to Victoria, British Columbia in 1958, where he died on 23 May 1982 and was survived by his second wife Barbara and two children.
