Memorable Manitobans: Alexander G. Cole (1862-?)
Farmer.
Born near Renfrew, Ontario on 10 January 1862, son of Thomas Cole and Catherine Gibbons, he came to Manitoba in 1888 and purchased a 160-acre farm on Section 22, Township 11, Range 18. In time, he purchased 320 acres on adjoining section 21. On 13 March 1889, he married Margaret McQuitty. They had four children: Kate B. Cole, Allan K. Cole, Clarence E. Cole, and Laura E. Cole. The family attended the Presbyterian Church.
