Born at Glasgow, Scotland on 13 July 1929, he trained as an architect there and practiced for a time before moving to Winnipeg where he worked at the firm of Moody and Moore. He served as President of the Manitoba Association of Architects (1968-1969).
While in Winnipeg, he met and married architect Jean Stuart Campbell Wallace and they had three children. The family moved to Vancouver, British Columbia (1974) then to Calgary, Alberta (1978) where he designed many residential and commercial structures. He died at Calgary, Alberta on 1 September 2014.
