Memorable Manitobans: Margaret Rose “Peggy” Casselman (1928-2006)

Curler.

Born at Winnipeg on 14 January 1928, she was the first female sales representative for Carling O’Keefe Brewery, serving until her retirement. An active curler at the Wildwood Curling Club and later Granite Curling Club, she won the Dominion Ladies Canadian Championship (1965), Seagram’s Mixed Canadian Championship (1973), Provincial Mixed Championship (1970, 1973), and the Provincial Senior Ladies Title (1989). In 1988, she was inducted into the Manitoba Curling Hall of Fame. She died on 18 January 2006.
