Plant breeder.
Born at Winnipeg around 1923, son of Arnold Campbell and Petrina Flora Isabel Wilson (1892-1974), he was a Plant Scientist at the Agriculture Canada Research Station in Winnipeg for over 30 years, specializing in the breeding and development of rust-resistant wheat varieties. In recognition of his contributions to Canadian agriculture, he received a Manitoba Centennial Medal (1970), was inducted into the Order of Canada (1989), and was given an honorary doctorate by the University of Manitoba (1992). He died at Winnipeg on 16 July 2012.
