Editor, historian.
Born at Gilbert Plains on 14 September 1917, daughter of Eva Serena Tennant (c1895-1976) and Robert F. Emberley (1888-?), she married Ernest Oscar Brown on 23 November 1936 and they had three sons. In 1945, she and her husband took over operation of the Gilbert Plains Maple Leaf, he serving as its Publisher and she as Editor. They operated the newspaper until retirement in 1977 when they passed it on to their son Terry Brown. In 1953, she published a book Settlers of the Plains on the history of the Gilbert Plains area. She died at Winnipeg on 21 March 1980 and was buried in the Chatsworth Cemetery.
